As the Service Operations Tooling Technician, you will be responsible for assembling Lucid Motors service tooling for our bespoke designed mechanical parts and help with the validation of the components for use in service centers. Use SAP software to keep inventory checks of parts to be built into assemblies and create works orders for the assembly of parts. Support operations function with key internal stakeholders (Field Ops, Engineering, and EHS (Environmental Health and Safety). Manage inbound tooling and consolidate for delivery to field operations. Oversee tooling & equipment projects with engineers and key team members to properly forecast for business needs.

The Role

  • Assemble the special tooling for service operations and other departments
  • Review tooling needs with the design team. Ensure key members are in alignment
  • Work with the Serviceability team to validate tools before implementation to the field
  • Develop and maintain spare tooling & equipment inventory with the use of SAP software to keep track of tooling parts
  • Support the group's 3D printer by preparing parts for assembly. Post-processing of 3D printed parts (grinding, sanding, etc)

You Bring:

  • Educated with a High school diploma, Technical college advantageous
  • Experience with automotive, OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer), or Supply Chain with technical field emphasis on service operations or parts operations advantageous
  • Knowledge of mechanical assembly and the use of associated tools a must
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Good communications skills both verbal and written
  • Good working ethic and team player as well as the ability to work alone and unsupervised
  • Analytical thinking: Gather relevant information, identify key issues, compare data from various sources; and draw appropriate conclusions to arrive at the appropriate conclusions
  • Will lift 25 lbs or more
  • Will be working with air power tools, grinders, drills, power tools, sockets, wrenches, torque wrenches etc
  • Ability to travel for work as required nationally (periodically)

Advantageous:

  • Forklift license
  • Basic knowledge of CAD (3DX, Catia, NX) software
  • Experienced with 3D printed parts , 3D printing machine running and operations
  • Ability to travel for work (nationally) as required (periodically)
