We are looking for a Drive Unit Test Technician to lead development activities for electric vehicle drive unit components.

Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches their work with vigor and determination. Candidates should have demonstrated the ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment and should be excellent at multi-tasking.

3 shifts are available:

Monday- Friday 7:00AM-3:30PM

Monday- Friday 3:00PM-11:30PM

Monday- Friday 11:00PM-7:30AM



The Role:

  • Interpret basic test requests and translate into test profiles for dynamometers.
  • Physically install and setup test articles on test beds.
  • Execute basic standard and non-standard test profiles with critical attention and focus.
  • Flash basic software versions to test articles.
  • Provide organized and detailed feedback to test requestors during tests.
  • Regularly update test tickets with findings, notes, and complete test reports.
  • Occasionally interact directly with engineers from various cross-functional teams.
  • Leverage basic data acquisition systems and related instrumentation.
  • Work successfully in an independent capacity with minimal guidance.
  • Diagnose and debug basic issues at a system, modular, and component level with a precise and methodical approach- Escalate internally as needed.
  • Design and fabricate basic supporting equipment for various tests.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of automotive or related technician experience.
  • A keen eye for catching problems, especially key when preparing and executing test profiles.
  • Strong organization and clean work environment habits.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Moderate experience with shop tools including but not limited to: torque wrenches, drivers, power tools, bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, etc.
  • Demonstrated understanding of electrical hazards, including precautionary measures around high voltage equipment and rotating machinery.
  • Detail oriented personality with exceptional documentation and reporting skills.
  • Strong Microsoft office and computer software literacy.
  • Excels in a fast-paced and dynamic environment- Remain focused and poised in the face of un-planned changes.
  • Basic experience working with standard industrial communication interfaces i.e. CANbus, Ethernet, Modbus


Preferred:

  • A true self-starter.
  • Experience in dyno-specific testing interfaces.
  • Experience with electric vehicle drive systems.
  • Experience with electric vehicles and/or automotive products.
