We are currently seeking a Project Manager to manage activities within the thermal systems group. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches their work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.

The role:

  • Define and implement new processes to allow us to deliver engineering projects more efficiently.
  • Work with a cross functional team of engineers to strategize, scope, and execute the development of thermal systems.
  • Generate sourcing documents, coordinate with engineering and supply chain to source thermal components.
  • Coordinate system and sub-system level development activities to align with overall vehicle program.
  • Drive key engineering decisions by bringing together different engineering teams including system and component level design activities.
  • Arrange for prototype parts and help with testing activities in the lab and prototype vehicles.
  • Facilitate delivery of parts to the factory to enable timely launch of products.
  • Address factory build and field issues through a well-coordinated action plan.
  • Keep the team informed of all program times and drive them to complete all tasks on time.
  • Monitor progress and take necessary action to mitigate any road blocks to enable timely completion of critical activities.
  • Use tools like Jira and Confluence to communicate key engineering tasks, track progress, and publish critical information.
  • Keep track of new product introduction life cycle, from design, validation , release to production. Generate tracker to keep management and team informed about critical path and deadlines
  • Identify critical program issues and drive issue closure
  • Identify risks and risk mitigation plan to ensure the success of product launch

Qualifications:

  • Understanding of thermal systems for automotive or similar products.
  • Experience in supporting development activities on a timeline basis.
  • Experience with coordinating commodity sourcing, design release, prototype build, testing and development, product launch activities.
  • Demonstrated experience of engineering problem solving.
  • Experience with new product introduction program management
  • Experience in automotive industry


Preferred:

  • Certification in Project Management.
  • Tendency for attention to details.
  • Ownership mentality.
  • Product design and release experience
  • 3 to 8 years project management experience

Education:

  • BS in engineering discipline
Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.

Bay Area: $115,000 - $165,000

The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs.
