Senior Manager - ADAS Sensing Mechanical Engineering and Products
The ADAS team is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager within the ADAS Sensor HW team. The position requires an experienced professional with a track record of successfully bringing innovative automotive ADAS/AD features and products into production.

Your Role:
- As a Mechanical Manager in the ADAS Sensor HW Team, you will work closely with ADAS Systems Engineering, Perception, and other cross functional teams including Exteriors, Interiors, BIW etc. to define and develop advanced mechanical integration strategies for sensors including Lidar, Radar, Cameras, and Ultrasonics.
- Responsible for the complete development process including Driving requirement specification, Packaging studies, Feasibility studies and analysis, Design, DFM, Cost and Scheduling
- Establish and Improve Design Review process that ensures cross functional alignment on sensor mechanical requirements
- Lead a team of 5 to 6 Mechanical engineers who are responsible of developing sensor interfaces such as mounts and enclosures, conducting thermal and structural analyses, and designing robust, reliable, integrated assemblies for the automotive environment in high volume production
- Lead the team to support the development of part and system-based tolerance requirements through GD&T with Design, Manufacturing and Quality and Tier 1 Suppliers
- Review assembly and measurement tooling in order to ensure alignment with agreed and optimized design strategies
- Support the development of measurement requirements to ensure product build meets design criteria
- Lead structural, modal, and thermal analyses to validate mechanical designs
- Manage team members working on different sensing milestones (sourcing, DV, PV, PPAP, etc.), and removing roadblocks as they arise
- Assist with managing the department budget for all Sensing projects
- Work closely with Supply Chain and Finance teams to track and manage Piece Cost, Tooling Investment, and ED&D imperatives for sensors
- Assist with Value Analysis / Value Engineering activities to improve profitability on production programs
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in mechanical engineering
- 8-12 years of experience in a discipline for complex mechanical or structural systems that have stringent positional tolerancing and electromechanical requirements.
- 5 years of experience in managing or leading small group of Mechanical Engineers
- Experience in designing parts to meet repeatable positioning with required thermal, vibration, and shock requirements
- Personal skills must include the ability to meet tight deadlines, have strong interpersonal and communication skills, be detail oriented, and can work independently
- Proficiency in GD&T and ASME Y14.5-2009 with extensive experience in complex 2D and 3D tolerance stack-ups using 3DCS CATIA or similar CAD system experience
- Great communication skills with ability to clearly convey information and to influence
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes (stamping, casting, injection molding, etc.)
Experience with metrology and associated equipment to measure sensor position and orientation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters in mechanical engineering with 8 years of experience OR Ph.D. with 5 years of experience.
- Experience working on production vehicle programs at an automotive OEM
- Experience leading dimensional engineering activities for a major automotive assembly (body structure, exterior, powertrain, etc.)
- Experience with sensor calibration processes
