We are currently seeking a test technician to support the testing infrastructure needs of the battery cell team. You will work closely with engineers and senior technicians to support the rapidly expanding battery lab. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and enjoys supporting their team through any challenge. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, possess the ability to learn quickly, and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment. The Role:

  • Work with engineers and technicians to build and assemble test fixtures and wire harnesses
  • Install, set up, perform preventative maintenance, and pand calibrate new test equipment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with testing equipment
  • Organize and maintain the battery lab space, equipment, and inventory
  • Help manage parts inventory and organization
  • Proactively identify areas of improvement through equipment procurement and automation
  • Periodically assist test operations team with running battery cell tests

Qualifications:

  • A basic understanding of lithium-ion battery safety and electrical hazards
  • Experience setting up and maintaining lab equipment (environmental chambers, power supplies, plumbing, pneumatics)
  • Solid understanding of basic mechanical skills, machine shop tools, and safety
  • Basic electrical knowledge/skill including fine pitch soldering
  • Excellent communication skills and team-oriented attitude
  • Detail-oriented and comfort with online collaboration and documentation
  • Clean and organized working style
  • Ability to deliver consistently high-quality results when working on repetitive tasks
  • Experience with MS Office
  • Minimum 3 years experience in an R&D or testing environment
  • Candidates will take a skills test to validate these qualifications are met

Preferred:

  • CATIA/Solidworks experience
  • Previous battery cell testing experience using Arbin or Maccor cyclers
  • Experience with Python, Matlab, Arduino, Eagle or similar software
  • Facilities experience
  • Experience working near or around high-voltage equipment
