As a Principal Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in our product development team, where you will be responsible for driving the end-to-end technical aspects of a key application at Lucid. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, taking requirements and transforming them into design, architecture, and code. In addition, you will serve as a mentor and guide to other engineers, ensuring the successful delivery of a high-quality application.

The Role:

  • Lead the design, architecture and development of Full-stack web applications.
  • Build responsive, accessible, and mobile-friendly web user interfaces
  • Collaborate with product managers, stakeholders, and engineering teams to understand and refine project requirements.
  • Develop and implement features, ensuring they align with our product's technical vision and strategy.
  • Oversee code reviews, ensuring code quality and compliance with coding standards.
  • Optimize application performance and ensure its reliability, scalability, and security.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and best practices, driving innovation within the team.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years experience in Full-stack web applications, microservices and REST API development, in Golang, Python, Java or similar languages.
  • Strong experience in building responsive, accessible, and mobile-friendly user interfaces with JavaScript, React, Angular or similar frameworks
  • Strong understanding of application design best practices, emphasizing the importance of maintainability for both server and client-side applications.
  • Define and help grow our end-to-end testing strategy and frameworks.
  • Proven hands-on experience with Cloud technologies, GIT, and proficient in DevOps methodologies, including CI/CD and test automation.
  • Exceptional skills in diagnosing issues, debugging, and optimizing application performance
  • Eager to actively seek and embrace user feedback as a driving force for achieving excellence in application development.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for presenting complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Proficiency in handling multiple tasks, setting priorities, and thriving in a dynamic, team-oriented, high-speed work environment.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science
  • Master's Degree preferred

Salary Range
: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
  • California (Bay Area) - $150,000 - $214,500
Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs. (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)
