Lucid battery technology is among the most highly valued core IP in the company. This position seeks an ambitious and talented engineer to help develop the next generation of industry-leading battery products. This is a demanding role with close cross-functional collaboration across several teams and one that requires a multi-disciplinary mindset.

Role:

  • You will own the design of core battery tech for the Lucid Air, Gravity, and Midsize from concept to production
  • You will conceptualize, test, and release high volume battery components that will enable Lucid to make the most compelling and sustainable vehicles in the world
  • Your innovative battery designs will directly influence key aspects of Lucid's acclaimed electric powertrains, including safety, mass, performance, cost, and reliability.
  • You'll learn to leverage your engineering skills to tackle complex, cross-functional battery design challenges.
  • To push boundaries and reimagine what's possible in EV performance, efficiency, and design
  • To expand your engineering skills by navigating unfamiliar challenges

Qualifications:

  • You have a strong desire to learn, to make an impact, and challenge yourself
  • You can leverage your intuitive understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals
  • You have an innate desire to build things
  • You can creatively think through design problems

Preferred:

  • Previous experience designing high voltage batteries or components (60VDC+, FSAE Electric, etc)
  • Previous experience designing parts that have shipped in volume
  • Strong CAD skills with 3DExperience/Catia CAD or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of a variety of manufacturing processes
  • Strong understanding of the material selection process

Education

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering
