Director, Strategy
Lucid is seeking a visionary and data-driven strategic leader to shape the future of our business at the intersection of automotive innovation and advanced technology. As Director of Strategy, you will partner closely with the executive leadership team to define where to play and how to win in the rapidly evolving EV and mobility ecosystem. You will drive the development of both long-range and near-term strategies, translate insights into action, and position Lucid for sustainable growth in a dynamic, competitive landscape.
You Will:
- Lead the company’s annual and long-range strategic planning processes, ensuring alignment across all business units.
- Partner with Finance, Engineering, Sales & Service, Marketing, and Operations to connect business strategies to Lucid’s vision.
- Analyze global trends across EVs, software-defined vehicles, autonomous driving, enterprise AI, and emerging technologies to identify growth opportunities.
- Deliver actionable market intelligence and competitor insights to inform executive decision-making.
- Drive scenario planning and strategic investment recommendations for the CEO and leadership team.
- Develop and evaluate business cases for new markets, products, and growth initiatives.
- Partner with the Office of the CEO to lead the companywide goal-setting process.
- Manage, mentor, and scale the Strategy team while leading high-impact cross-functional initiatives.
- Act as a trusted advisor and thought partner to senior leaders, shaping the future direction of the company
You Bring:
- 15+ years of experience in corporate strategy, strategy consulting, investment banking, or strategic roles within high-tech or automotive sectors.
- Proven success in designing and implementing corporate strategy processes that drive measurable outcomes in growth and mature companies.
- Expertise in the EV, automotive, or mobility ecosystem, with a clear understanding of value chains, business models, and innovation levers.
- Strong track record leading complex, cross-functional initiatives in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
- Advanced analytical and financial modeling skills, with experience building strategic frameworks and business cases.
- A structured, objective problem-solving approach with a bias toward data-driven insights.
- Exceptional communication skills and executive presence, with the ability to distill complex topics into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at every level.
Great To Have:
- Working knowledge of strategic frameworks such as Where to Play / How to Win.
- Experience in both high-growth startups and global companies.
- Familiarity with hardware/software lifecycle management or platform-based business models.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Management, or Engineering
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree is strongly preferred
