Manager, Health & Safety Engineering
We are currently seeking a EHS Manager, Health & Safety Engineering to lead a critical pillar in our Global EHS Center of Excellence (COE).
As the Health & Safety Engineering Manager, you will lead a team and serve as the senior technical authority for ensuring safety in-design as well as application. You will also manage personnel who are driving complex safety engineering topics to resolution to reduce risk and support key business objectives. You and your team will work to ensure the highest standards for protecting employees and the communities in which our employees operate. You will be responsible to understand the business processes so that you can assess risk and provide recommendations and solutions to eliminate hazard.

You Will:
- Provide leadership and presence based at our Advanced Manufacturing Plant in Casa Grande, AZ while supporting the global enterprise across all EHS business units. Reporting to the Sr. Manager of the Global EHS COE, this Manager provides leadership and strategic direction by building a partnership with stakeholders across the business enterprise to support technical program deliverance and risk reduction initiatives.
- In this role, the Health & Safety Engineering Manager will develop and deploy systems, programs, and technical resources to effectively address organization-wide Health & Safety risk profiles. The role balances engineering disciplines in equipment safety, electrical safety, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, and occupational health.
- Oversight and responsibility for equipment safety and ergonomic risk assessment programs through key vehicle launch platforms is a critical priority for this role.
- Crafting and cascading EHS launch (and program maturity) performance KPI's is a fundamental function in this role to assure success in supporting associated business milestones.
- Project management and risk engineering skill sets are core to this roles' success in managing a multi-functional team, strategic and tactical projects, and balancing regularly competing priorities in a rapidly growing business.
- Developing and launching mission-critical systems and tools to enable occupational health and early intervention programs to support enterprise-wide EHS operations and the personnel they serve (e.g. OH services, Early Intervention programs, workers compensation management, job placement, etc.) is a key organizational objective that this role will be responsible for.
- This role will be tasked in facilitating the management and implementation of all industrial hygiene programs, enterprise-wide, supported by a risk-based exposure assessment that qualitatively and quantitatively governs our operations globally.
- Leadership and responsibility in Hazard Communication will be core to this function.
- This manager will be challenged in leading, growing, and developing a team of EHS engineering professionals with varying levels of experience and responsibilities across this COE business pillar.
You Bring:
- Minimum BS/BA degree in chemical, mechanical, industrial, civil engineering or related EHS engineering field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 10+ years relevant experience.
- 5+ years in people management role, preferred.
- Fundamental understanding of electronics technology, supply chain, and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written in English.
- Ability to establish operational objectives, work plans and critical metrics.
- Ability to allocate resources to meet schedules, goals and get results.
- Act as a lead person supporting any regulatory inspections and drive actions to closure.
- Manage direct reports and provide mentorship, direction, and coaching.
- Coordinate activities for responsible programs with responsibility for budgets, schedules, work plans, staffing and performance requirements.
- Frequently interact with other area business leaders in cross-functional work and able to lead a collaborative effort among members of a project team.
- Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning the EHS program, key business risks, and drive alignment and engagement with external partners (e.g. AHJ's & other regulatory authorities as necessary).
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
- Automobile or industrial experience working in EH&S is a plus.
- Spanish language abilities is a bonus.
- CIH, CSP, CMSE, BCPE credentials are valuable.
