The Role:

  • Demonstrate expertise in building complex mechanical and electrical assemblies.
  • Be highly detail oriented and able to keep detailed documentation of builds.
  • Ability to demonstrate and teach learned technical skills/knowledge with other technicians.
  • Assemble production and prototype assemblies.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting High Voltage Vehicle, System, Sub-system, & Component level issues
  • Collaborate with engineers on the team to help complete engineering builds.
  • Ability to execute work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications:

  • Strong fundamental understanding of Electric Vehicle Powertrain & associated repair
  • Experience with root cause analysis at the component and system level
  • Familiarity with high precision measurement tools including bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, microscope, 3D scanners, Hioki, DMM, & DC power supplies
  • Proficient with hand tools, power tools and build equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with engineers and technicians across organizations.
  • Works safely in environments with high voltage and heavy equipment
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience on electric vehicle powertrain & vehicle level diagnostics
  • Ability to use 3D CAD software to read/interpret the drawings, & interface with the tool for 3D printing
  • Must be able to obtain a clean Driver Background Check from Motor Vehicle Department and demonstrate driving skill sufficient to operate a prototype vehicle.
  • Ability to travel.

Preferred:

  • Experience with electric vehicle propulsion systems.
  • Exposure to manufacturing processes, controls, PLC, & FANUC Robots
  • Prior experience in diagnosing Power Electronics component/systems.
  • Prior experience working on the production floor of an Automotive OEM.

Education:

  • High school Diploma
  • ASE certification a bonus
