Job Summary:
The Operational Excellence Specialist will be responsible for supporting the execution of the Lucid Production System's lean programs. This role involves a hands-on, shop-floor approach to drive continuous improvement.
The Operational Excellence Specialist will execute MRB/NCM program execution, per procedures and WI available, this role will be responsible for following the standards on key and specific activities such as Material Pick up, disposition, SAP Tags completion, etc. detailed in the WI linked to the procedure.
You will:
- Execute Lean Program Tools.
- Support Lean Coach and Associate Lean Coach assignments.
- Conduct LPS audits, Periodic Job Observations, and investigate regarding the findings.
- Perform and support departmental Gemba walks.
- Support initiatives to ensure performance objectives.
- Collaborate with Operational Excellence Associate Lean Coach to implement Continuous Improvement solutions.
- Actively participate in the training process, including self-training.
You Bring:
- 1+ years in a manufacturing environment is desired.
- Lean and/or Six Sigma knowledge are preferred.
- Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Act as an individual contributor and work effectively in team environments.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships at various levels within the organization.
- Ability to shift priorities as required by the needs of the business.
Scope:
This position will support the Operational Excellence organization as outlined in the Operational Excellence organization chart.
The Operational Excellence Specialist will report to the Operational Excellence Lean Coach or Operational Excellence Lean Coach Associate, following the same organization chart. Ideally, the Specialist will be assigned to a single shop to foster strong engagement with the Production and Support teams, including Team Members, Team Leaders, and Supervisors.
This role will be responsible for performing Physical and Systematical Non-Conforming Material management operations in the corresponding areas per standards and procedures.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The associate position will be responsible for:
- Serve as a role model for all LPS/Safety standards at Lucid.
- Execute LPS/Quality audits as required.
- Actively participating in training processes, including self-training.
- Stay up to date on changes to LPS processes, procedures, and tools.
- Support the production team, spending significant time on the floor with Production Supervisors, Team Leaders, and Team Members to help them adhere to the LPS principles and standards.
- Participate in problem-solving projects (Kaizen) and participate in cross-functional team efforts.
- Execute the NCM Management activities per NCM procedure.
- Attend the MRB walks/huddles as required, following NCM Management procedures. Refer to NCM for more details.
- SAP Quality Notifications Process and Material Disposal.
- Maintain 90% Storage Bin accuracy and above.
Do:
- Role Model the LPS/Safety standards.
- Provide feedback to improve and adjust LPS standards and tools.
- Execute LPS strategies and tools on the shop floor.
- Perform LPS/Quality audits per TDM and Procedures as assigned.
- Accomplish the training plan, including self-training.
- Participate in the Problem-solving projects as required.
- Execute MRB walks/huddles as required, including material pick-up, huddles, SAP process, and material disposal.
- Follow the escalation protocol.
- Feel free to speak up and share any concerns, questions, comments, suggestions, complaints, etc.
Don't:
- Run the line as TL or Team Member.
- Assign tasks or delegate any task to a team member on the shop floor.
- Follow an isolated strategy or plan. Bring all the ideas to the team so we can align and replicate them.
- Provide any feedback regarding some topics you don't have clear.
- Report out.
- Perform investigations or additional tasks out of the scope, per NCM procedure.
