As we expand our cutting-edge powertrain manufacturing capabilities, we are looking for a highly motivated Industrial Engineering Manager to lead and scale our Industrial Engineering efforts within the Powertrain organization. This individual will manage and develop a high-performing engineering team focused on optimizing processes for Drive Unit, Inverter, and related powertrain components. If you are passionate about driving operational excellence, enjoy developing teams, and thrive in a dynamic, growth-focused environment—this role is for you.
You Will:
- Lead and mentor a team of Senior Industrial Engineers in the execution of productivity improvement initiatives across Powertrain manufacturing lines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain) to implement scalable industrial engineering solutions.
- Develop strategic production planning tools such as capacity models, labor models, OEE tracking, and line balancing for current and future powertrain production lines.
- Own and improve Industrial Engineering systems, including labor standards (MODAPTS), cycle time tracking, layout optimization, and workstation design.
- Drive the deployment of lean manufacturing methodologies and continuous improvement frameworks to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Sustainability goals.
- Review and validate cost-saving initiatives and performance KPIs from the team; ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Lead the planning and implementation of new product introductions (NPIs) from an industrial engineering perspective.
- Support the development of manufacturing instructions, ergonomics assessments, and factory layout designs using tools such as AutoCAD and FlexSim.
- Partner with leadership to define departmental strategy, hiring plans, and resource allocation.
You Bring:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years of relevant experience in high-volume or complex manufacturing environments, preferably in EV powertrain or automotive systems.
- 2+ years of people leadership experience, including hiring, coaching, and performance management of engineers.
- Deep expertise in time/motion studies (MODAPTS preferred), VA/NVA analysis, and capacity modeling.
- Strong project management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis (Excel, Tableau), layout design (AutoCAD), and simulation software (FlexSim or similar).
- Experience implementing lean manufacturing principles and developing standard work documentation.
- Familiarity with automated manufacturing processes and MES systems is a plus.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification (preferred)
- Experience in both start-up and scale manufacturing environments (preferred)
- Understanding of controls, automation, or process integration within a powertrain context (preferred)
