Job Description
The Sr. Market Insight Analyst is responsible for conducting market intelligence, business analysis, and strategic research to support business growth and decision-making across the North American market. This role will analyze industry trends, market dynamics, policy developments, pricing movements, customer demand, and competitor activities within the solar and broader energy sector.
The ideal candidate possesses strong business acumen, analytical thinking, and data interpretation skills, with the ability to transform complex information into actionable business insights for cross-functional stakeholders and senior management.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct market size analysis, demand forecasting, and supply-demand assessments for the North American solar and energy market
- Monitor and analyze industry trends, pricing movements, customs/trade data, competitor activities, and customer demand to identify market opportunities and risks
- Study federal, state, and local regulations, trade policies, and macroeconomic developments impacting the renewable energy and PV industry
- Gather, organize, and maintain business and market intelligence databases from internal systems, third-party research, and public sources
- Develop actionable insights and strategic recommendations to support business planning, sales strategy, market expansion, and operational decision-making
- Drive quarterly business reviews, strategic initiatives, and transformational projects through data-driven analysis
- Create dashboards, reports, presentations, and visualizations to communicate key findings to management and cross-functional teams
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, PMO, Supply Chain, and Business Management Office (BMO) teams to support strategic projects and business execution
- Support risk assessment initiatives by evaluating market volatility, trade regulations, policy changes, and global supply chain dynamics
- Identify process improvement opportunities and provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency and business performance
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Business, Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Finance, Marketing, Energy, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in market research, business analysis, economic analysis, or market intelligence within the energy, renewable energy, solar, utilities, or manufacturing sectors
- Strong business sense with proven analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Experience conducting market research, competitive analysis, and business intelligence reporting
- Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to independently drive projects and work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the solar PV, battery storage, utility, or clean energy industry
- Familiarity with North American renewable energy markets, trade policies, and regulatory frameworks
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools such as SQL, Python, Power BI, or Tableau
- Consulting, industrial chain research, or strategy analysis experience is a plus
- Bilingual English/Mandarin is a plus
