The Hardware team is currently looking for a Senior Manager to come and help lead the team.

You Will:

    • Manage a team of Mechanical Engineer individual contributors and take responsibility for their growth and success
    • Responsible for ME system and subsystem development and vehicle integration that meets program timing and budget
    • Maintain a positive team dynamic and culture
    • Support team level objectives as well as individual
    • Drive decision making and create direction from ambiguity
    • Derive technical architecture and requirements from product requirements
    • Work with Sourcing and Procurement teams to vet supply chain and production partners
    • Support design decisions with engineering calculations, research, and experimentation
    • Prototype; create quick experimental mock-ups and meticulous mechanical models
    • Research technologies and scope development opportunities
    • Conduct reviews on conceptual design, CAD, analysis (Mechanical, Thermal, etc) and validation plans to ensure high quality of work
    • Support the build/test/validate product development cycle, travel required(25%) after Covid-19
    • Organize and lead cross-functional collaboration efforts with Thermal, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Reliability/Test Engineering, and Manufacturing to ensure full coverage in requirements and features

You Have:

    • BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field, and 15+ years of related industry experience
    • Proven Leadership experience as a technical people manager, and proven experience building products for harsh/fast pace environments
    • Proven experience to work with Asian suppliers/manufacturers
    • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and presentation skills; experience presenting complex systems to mixed audiences (expert and novice)
    • Track-record for successfully shipping hardware products at both the IC and Manager level
    • Experience setting up CAD (SolidWorks) revision control/Product Lifecycle Management systems
    • Strong foundation in mechanical engineering fundamentals, including solid mechanics, electromagnetics, thermodynamics, and knowledge of basic engineering materials and manufacturing processes
    • Experience in performing tolerance analyses and working through DFM challenges with external vendors
    • Mix of hands-on skills and management experience in results driven product development environments
    • Proactive problem solving, with experience in DFMEA, failure analysis, root cause investigation, and DOE creation, working knowledge of FEA principles

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in light vehicle powertrain systems
    • Solid understanding of product development lifecycles
    • Experience with working with global teams and manufacturing
