We are looking for a Public Affairs Lead to help lead our engagement with towns and cities across DACH as we seek to expand our shared e-scooter and e-bike services across the region.
You will join a team of public policy leaders who share our vision for new and environmentally friendly transport options. You will need the ability to work flexibly, engaging in a range of public affairs activities - and producing high quality results - as Lime seeks to strengthen our presence across DACH .
You will be comfortable working independently and owning responsibility for projects, tasks, and geographic areas and will have significant experience building relationships with elected officials (both local, regional and national), local authorities and important third sector stakeholders. A deep understanding of German politics and policy is essential - as are the skills to communicate effectively both externally and internally.
Previous experience of working within the tech or transport sectors is desirable.

What You'll Do:

    • Establish strategic relationships with government and city leaders, local authorities, regulators and third sector stakeholders, regularly meet with them to build trust and mutual interest, mitigate potential obstacles and convey the company's priorities and strategies
    • Help local authorities, transport operators, local partners and other relevant institutions understand how Lime’s mobility solutions can work for their cities
    • Plan and execute campaigns on specific issue areas or in specific geographies such as a City or Länder
    • Travelling in DACH (if COVID allows) to city roundtables, speaking events or to launch new cities with with either scooters, bikes or a new electric mode
    • Close partnerships with organisations, think tanks, educational institutions and similar groups to align Lime’s social mission with existing transportation, health, and environmental community initiatives
    • Collaborate closely with other Lime team members on operations, marketing, and local media activities
    • Write and own a variety of written submissions on behalf of the company, including government consultations and position papers
    • Work closely with the team to monitor and identify issues, political developments and upcoming challenges

About You:

    • Degree in Government, Law and Public relations or equivalent
    • 8+ years experience in government affairs, political campaigns, and/or business development in a government-related environment
    • Excellent written and verbal communication/people skills
    • Ability to handle multiple deadlines and work at a rapid startup space
    • Able to work independently and as part of a team
    • Existing transportation, government, and advocacy contacts and relationships in DACH
    • Government affairs know-how & experience leading or working at a high level in local or regional government arenas, particularly city government
    • Passion for sustainability, politics, urban planning, mobility, and leveraging tech for good
    • Available for travel
    • Fluency in both German and English is essential
