Are you ready to be at the forefront of revolutionizing air mobility? As we embark on the exciting journey towards serial production of our ground-breaking Lilium jet, we have an opportunity for a technically strong team leader to join us as Manufacturing Engineering Manager, Production Equipment.

Your role and your team:

We are looking for a strong people manager to lead our team of Equipment Engineers who work closely with manufacturing engineering to define the processes and specifications required for our production equipment. This team identifies and selects the right suppliers to deliver bespoke machines for our propulsion, final assembly, and battery factories.

As a Manufacturing Engineering Manager, your role consists of people management, technical leadership, process definition, troubleshooting and handling escalations. You will run daily meetings with your team and take high-level responsibility for suppliers, re-negotiating where required and owning relationships.

Your day-to-day:

Lead and manage a team of Production Equipment Engineers:

  • Provide strong leadership to the Production Equipment team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Set clear expectations, goals, and performance metrics for team members to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and mentorship sessions to support individual growth and development.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and open communication within the team.
  • Promote and foster good interdepartmental relationships by enabling possible synergies and collaboration.

Oversee the development, selection, procurement, and implementation of Production Equipmentacross Lilium's factories:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for Production Equipment that aligns with the organization's production goals and standards.
  • Oversee the lifecycle of Production Equipment, from conceptualization and design to procurement, implementation, and handover into operations and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and evaluate the most suitable technologies and vendors for Production Equipment.
  • Ensure seamless integration of Production Equipment across internal factories, optimizing efficiency and standardization.

About you:

We are looking for a hard working and agile team leader with a proven background working with production equipment. Experienced in interpreting equipment specifications within an aerospace, automotive or related complex manufacturing environment, ideally with Mechanical or Automation engineering qualification.

A great communicator; skilled at managing cross functional relationships and influencing within an international, collaborative team environment. Demonstrating strong people management skills, you should be comfortable in an ever-changing scale-up workplace.
