What You’ll do
Provide SCADA expertise on solar power systems during the construction and operational phase of each project, focusing on SCADA Implementation, commissioning, up-keep, and maintenance. Responsible for SCADA maintenance and sub-system support for operational projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the project manager, EPC, construction manager, electrical manager, and project engineer to guarantee a quality system is installed and commission per specifications of the interconnect agreement, QSE, Utility, Independent System Operator and regional reliability entity
  • Responsible for evaluating commissioning reports for completeness, quality, correctness, and security of device installations
  • Manage consultants for network security deliverables
  • Troubleshoot SCADA hardware, software, HMI, network and ethernet switches, computers/workstations, programming, subnets, routers, and/or other communications network issues and engage appropriate support team to get them fixed in a timely manner
  • Update basic configurations of digital automation controllers, PPCs, PLCs, RTACS, communication processors, and managed Ethernet switches for SCADA network when new systems are added or removed
  • Maintain project documentation, including SCADA, network, and communications record drawings
Who we’re looking for
Knowledge
  • Knowledge of SCADA, RTUs, Point to Point testing processes, electric distribution, substations, and transmission systems
  • Knowledge of SCADA communications network, topology, and protocols
  • Knowledge of third-party datalink protocols (Modbus, DNP, OPC, etc.)
Qualifications
  • Associates Degree or Technical Certification in Electrical or Electronics Engineering and/or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with SCADA software programming and SCADA historians
  • Knowledge of NERC/CIP requirements
Experience
  • 5-10 years’ experience in the duties and responsibilities described
  • Ability to discuss complex situations with others in person or by telephone and to coordinate an agreed action plan
  • Ability to multi-task in support of cross functional requirements while diligently meeting required deadlines with accuracy and consistency
  • Proficiency in MS Suite required; experience in data and workflow management and use of enterprise software platforms preferred

We offer:

  • US team members are entitled to medical benefits, life insurance, dental benefits, vision benefits and short- and long-term disability benefits. Lightsource bp pays for the first $800 of the monthly insurance premium. For staff members with dependents, Lightsource will cover 50% of the costs of covering dependents. The team member contributes the remainder of the premium, if any, through pre-tax payroll deduction.
  • Lightsource bp offers US team members immediate eligibility for a 401(k) plan, with a 3% nonelective employer contribution.
  • Our team members are eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, calculated based on corporate, team and individual objectives. Team members in the US may receive an additional 50% of their annual bonus in a “retention bank” as well, available for withdrawal after three years of bonus awards have accrued.
  • Lightsource bp currently observes the following 11 holidays in the US: New Years Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
  • US team members accrue 20 days of vacation and 15 days of sick leave annually. All team members are also eligible for COVID-19 leave.

  • US team members receive a monthly personal phone bill reimbursement of up to $100 and a monthly commuter benefit of up to $150. Team members also receive one-time wellness and remote work allowances
