What You’ll do
Lightsource bp is seeking an Associate, Regulatory Compliance to join our dynamic and thriving Asset Service’s team who will be accountable for the FERC/NERC and Market compliance of our US operational solar assets. The Associate, Regulatory Compliance will be working closely across our global teams to ensure the overall compliance of the solar assets.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Maintain the LSbp project Reliability Standards program files and ensure that evidence is in an audit-ready state
  • Track upcoming compliance due dates and work with necessary parties to ensure compliance obligations are met on or before deadline
  • Complete periodic reporting in the ERO Portal (Section 1600, MIDAS, ad-hoc)
  • Review of monthly reports provided by O&M/GOP providers to ensure completeness and compliance obligations have been met
  • Stay abreast of upcoming changes to Standards; communicate compliance obligations, technical considerations/support needs
  • Responsible for NERC registration activities for new projects
  • Work with potential 3rd party contacts to ensure onboarding projects are in are fully compliant at turnover
  • Monitor NERC Alert system; acknowledge receipt of newly issued Alerts, as necessary; work with Regulatory Compliance personnel and other stakeholders to craft submittals, as necessary
  • Engage with NERC and Regional Entities via workshops and other scheduled activities
  • Assist in preparation of FERC/EIA/Market compliance activities, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by manager
Who we’re looking for
Knowledge
  • Familiarity with NERC O&P and CIP Reliability Standards
  • Understanding of evidence necessary to demonstrate compliance with Reliability Standards
  • Knowledge of current PV technology
  • Ability to identify key information in project technical documents
  • General knowledge of energy market
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, e.g., Engineering, Compliance, Law, or Computer Science or minimum of 3 years of equivalent experience such as engineering, auditing, analytics, operations, compliance etc.
  • 5+ years of experience in compliance with NERC Standards, ideally in utility-scale PV and/or storage projects
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Candidate must possess developing planning and organizing skills and abilities, which include good time management and prioritization skills
  • Must have the ability to work in both a team environment and as an individual contributor
  • Must have demonstrated attention to detail skill sets, be results oriented; and be able to work concurrently with multiple deadlines and deliverables.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with Lightsource BP internal stakeholders
