What You’ll do
Lightsource bp is seeking a passionate Associate Asset Manager to join our dynamic and thriving Asset Service’s team. This is an integral role in supporting the Asset Managers in providing daily operational and commercial management of utility solar PV plants in the USA, ensuring best practice for safety, quality, and environmental performance, whilst enhancing the overall returns and value of each project and complying with all the applicable contractual agreements.
The ideal candidate will have a commercial mindset and that is able to positively work and influence relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide overall support to the Asset Services team for operating assets, including interfacing with various workstreams such as O&M, performance, insurance, legal, finance, IT, procurement, etc.
  • Assist in financial planning and analytics: including monthly accruals of revenue, operating expenses, plant improvements, and other business-related impacts.
  • Support Finance team with analysis of monthly project level P&L variance and cash flow forecasts
  • Collaborate in the annual budget planning process, including analysis of individual assets as well as incorporating inputs and standardizing budget assumptions across the fleet.
  • Monthly review of operational and financial KPIs, identification of improvement opportunities.
  • Preparation of internal and external project reporting deliverables, and ad-hoc reports as needed.
  • Populate and manage compliance database for operating assets by ensuring periodic updates, compliance assessments, and compliance implementation.
  • Manage reporting cycle to ensure timely, accurate reporting of financial, operational, and contractual obligations.
  • Administration of 3rd party service providers: including vendor enrollment, purchase order & invoice management
  • Assist with engagement 3rd party operators and overall management of the operations and maintenance activities, to help oversee the reliable safe operations of the portfolio of assets.
  • Support the onboarding activities for new projects from DevCo/EPC to Operations
  • Support in the management of relationships with key project level stakeholders including equity investors, offtakers, contractors, landowners, etc.
Who we’re looking for
Knowledge
  • Commercial Asset Management experience for utility scale solar PV and/or wind energy within the United States as well as basic understanding of organized energy markets fundamentals as well as general energy and operational dispatch concepts of renewable assets.
Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or a related field is required.
Experience
  • Minimum of three years of experience in finance, development, or operations, preferably in the energy or power industry. The ideal candidate worked for financial investors active in the renewable space internationally, and IPP or a vertically integrated developer.
