Preconstruction Manager

What You’ll do
The Manager, Preconstruction will support Lightsource bp’s development projects through to construction by preparing project cost estimates, support with providing project schedules, supporting engineering with constructability reviews, ensure projects have allocated safe harbor equipment to support tax credit eligibility and liaise with various internal departments to ensure project scopes of work and RFP exhibits are up to date. The Preconstruction Manager will work within the Preconstruction and Tenders group of the EPC Department, and will work closely with Project Management and Engineering teams. The position requires a high-energy professional with strong project development, scheduling and estimating experience and the ability to think and act strategically in pursuit of goals. This is a hybrid role perfromed out of our Austin, Denver, or San Francisco office.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Liaise with engineering and project management to ensure project due diligence is completed in time for RFP bidding (Geotech, Hydrology etc).
- Run estimates on project for input into financial models at various levels of maturity (high level estimates for future projects through to financial investment level estimates to determine project budgets).
- Read and review in detail bid proposals to determine appropriate contingency levels for bidder scopes vs scope of work requirements.
- Be the single point of contact for project estimates and be able to explain in detail how these were derived.
- Develop project schedules for development projects
- Participate in the site optimization process
- Liaise with wider departments to provide project expertise as needed (development with permitting, engineering with design etc)
Who we’re looking for
- Relevant college degree with preference for Engineering, Supply Chain, Construction or Business Management
- Experience working in the utility-scale renewable energy industry preferred
- Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team
- Experience in developing complex project estimates for PV and BESS Projects preferred
- Experience with scheduling and GANTT charts
- Sound knowledge of Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and SAP (preferred)
- Business fluent proficiency in English

- Competitive compensation: $123,000 to $137,000 annually plus a 15% annual bonus.
