What you’ll do
The Global Structured Finance team is committed to helping Lightsource bp finance and commercialize 25 gigawatts (“GW”) by 2025, and here in the USA, the U.S. Structured Finance team has helped finance 3.2 GW of utility-scale solar projects and raise $4.2 billion of debt and tax equity financing since 2019. To support our global “25-by-25” mandate, our team is looking for a highly motivated financial Analyst who has a strong interest in joining a dynamic and high performing team to capitalize on substantial deal flow for a top tier platform in the U.S. The individual will be responsible for supporting project finance debt/tax equity transactions from the initial capital raising stage to final funding events. In addition, the individual will be responsible for conducting financial analyses for offtake contract origination, M&A opportunities, and undertake miscellaneous analytic tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Help own the project finance model for tax equity and debt financing processes from the initial capital raising stage through commercial operation date
- Prepare marketing materials for potential tax equity and debt providers
- Maintain transaction data rooms, coordinate due diligence process across the organization, and manage 3rd party consultants and stakeholders for M&A, debt and tax equity financing processes.
- Verify project inputs in financial models with internal subject matter experts related to revenue, operating expenses and capital expenditures
- Assist with negotiating term sheets by converting prospective terms into modeled analyses, and reviewing the accuracy of final tax equity and debt model inputs in the definitive documentation
- Help prepare investment committee presentations at key milestones in project lifecycle including term sheet execution and financial close
- Provide analytical support to various groups internally at key project milestones such PPA execution, design optimization, module procurement, and EPC contract negotiation
- Closely follow industry trends and competitors, including deal flow and transactions
- Other ad-hoc tasks as they arise
Knowledge and Skillset
- Proficient in Excel and proven ability to navigate and manipulate Excel based financial models
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including comfort interacting with internal management and external financing counterparties
- Knowledge of renewable energy or energy project finance (a plus)
- Knowledge of Excel (required) and VBA coding (a plus)
- Bachelor’s degree, ideally in finance or a quantitative field
- Prior internships or work experience in investment banking or in another role performing detailed Excel-based cash flow financial modeling and analyses (a plus)
- An Excel-based modelling test will be administered during the interview process (so prior knowledge of Excel is required)
- All candidates qualified to work in the USA shall be considered, however candidates need to be willing to relocate to and work from our offices in San Francisco or Denver

What We offer
- US team members are entitled to medical benefits, life insurance, dental benefits, vision benefits and short- and long-term disability benefits. Lightsource bp pays for the first $800 of the monthly insurance premium. For staff members with dependents, Lightsource will cover 50% of the costs of covering dependents. The team member contributes the remainder of the premium, if any, through pre-tax payroll deduction.
- Lightsource bp offers US team members immediate eligibility for a 401(k) plan, with a 3% nonelective employer contribution.
- Our team members are eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, calculated based on corporate, team and individual objectives. Team members in the US may receive an additional 50% of their annual bonus in a “retention bank” as well, available for withdrawal after three years of bonus awards have accrued.
- Lightsource bp currently observes the following 11 holidays in the US: New Years Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
- US team members accrue 20 days of vacation and 15 days of sick leave annually. All team members are also eligible for COVID-19 leave.

- US team members receive a monthly personal phone bill reimbursement of up to $100 and a monthly commuter benefit of up to $150. Team members also receive one-time wellness and remote work allowances.
