  • Position Summary
  • The Battery Electrode Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting, optimizing, and sustaining battery electrode manufacturing processes in a production environment. This role is hands-on and manufacturing-focused, ensuring stable operation, high yield, consistent quality, and efficient scale-up of electrode production.
  • This position is not a research or materials development role, but a production engineering role centered on process execution, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Support daily operation of battery electrode manufacturing processes, including material handling, mixing/feeding, electrode formation or coating, calendaring, slitting, and roll handling.
  • Troubleshoot process and equipment issues impacting yield, quality, throughput, and uptime.
  • Monitor process data and SPC; drive continuous improvement in yield, OEE, scrap reduction, and cost.
  • Maintain and improve process parameters, control plans, and SOPs.
  • Support equipment commissioning, qualification, and production ramp-up.
  • Work closely with operators, maintenance, and quality teams to ensure consistent electrode performance.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.

  • Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in battery, capacitor, or roll-to-roll electrode manufacturing.
  • Hands-on experience with electrode manufacturing equipment in a production environment.
  • Strong understanding of process control, yield improvement, and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with dry electrode processing, thick electrodes, or solvent-based coating.
  • Experience supporting pilot or early-stage production lines.
  • Familiarity with roll-to-roll web handling, calendaring, and slitting.
  • Experience with automation, data acquisition, or MES systems.
