Internship – BESS Analyst
Position Overview:
The BESS Analyst Intern will support LGESVT's Service Engineering organization by performing essential administrative and data management tasks that ensure accurate asset tracking and lifecycle planning for our fleet of battery energy storage systems. This role will provide direct exposure to the fast-paced, technology-driven battery energy storage industry, with responsibilities including maintaining and populating LGESVT's asset databases, administering software platform user credentials, and assisting with updates to our computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to improve operational visibility and performance management. The intern will also contribute to documentation control, data verification, and process development initiatives, providing hands-on exposure to service operations for our fleet of grid-scale energy storage systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Asset Database Population: Assist in consolidating data and populating the centralized asset management system with critical information for LGESVT's fleet of battery energy storage systems.
- Data Verification & Auditing: Conduct physical audits and documentation reviews to verify the accuracy of existing asset records, including serial numbers, models, vendors, and locations.
- Documentation: Support stakeholders in collecting and organizing essential asset documentation, such as product manuals, warranty contracts, service agreements, vendor contact information, and spare parts lists.
- Obsolescence Research: Conduct internal analysis to identify potential obsolescence issues and flag products that are nearing the end of their manufacturer support lifecycle.
- Process Development Support: Assist in developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for data entry, asset tracking, and documentation control.
- Analysis Support: Help performance engineers prepare reports and presentations on asset conditions, performance metrics, and potential risks.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial), Engineering Technology, or a related technical field.
- Experience: Previous internship experience in a related field is a plus but not required. A strong academic record is expected.
- Technical Skills:Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required (data entry, pivot tables, basic analysis).
- Familiarity with database systems (e.g IBM Maximo) and any computerized maintenance management systems is a plus.
- Basic understanding of engineering principles and technical documentation reading.
- Basic understanding of lithium-ion batteries, battery management systems, and high-voltage power conversion systems is a plus.
- Soft Skills:High attention to detail and strong organizational skills are crucial for data accuracy.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive attitude and eagerness to learn about industrial energy storage equipment and product lifecycle planning.
