Conducts standard safety analyses, by applying functional safety standards and principles to provide feedback and guidance to the engineering design teams for systems, hardware, and software on safety findings and to recommended design changes that improve automotive embedded safety systems and ensure their compliance to safety goals
Lead the safety plan and enable the project team through all phases of safety engineering: requirements elicitation, item definitions, preliminary hazard analysis and risk assessment, functional safety concept, technical safety concept, item integration, safety validation.
Perform technical analysis and provide results to support the development of the safety concept and artifacts of the safety case: hazard and risk assessment, hazard metric translation, define safety goals and criteria, ASIL decomposition, FMEA and FTA analysis
Consult and collaborate with the software design teams to achieve effective technical solutions and ensure that all safety requirements are robust at the systems level, hardware interface level and software architectural levels
Analyzes/defines the functional safety requirements within the project based on the customer requirements. Understands/analyzes the requirements from the end user perspective while considering constraints and safety standards as the main objective
Carries out the design analysis to support the development of safety case arguments
Creates/updates the hazard and risk analyses, safety plan, functional and technical safety concept
Specifies safety requirements and safety concepts for system/components
Supports the definition/specification of safety requirements for hardware and software architectures
Judges if system design/architecture can fulfill requirements, considering hardware-software components, interfaces, functional and environmental dependencies, using basic understanding of computer/vehicle networks, hardware, and software design
