We’re seeking a hands-on, customer-focused After-Sales Quality Engineer to join our client’s growing Energy Storage Systems (ESS) team in Auburn Hills. This engineer will play a key role in ensuring reliability, safety, and customer satisfaction for advanced Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) — including the next-generation Battery Box (SBB), a modular, containerized solution for commercial, industrial, and utility-scale applications.

If you’re an analytical problem solver who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys working directly with customers, and has a passion for renewable-energy technology, this is an exciting opportunity to make an impact in a rapidly expanding field.

What You’ll Do

  • Track and report field performance trends to improve reliability and customer satisfaction.

Quality Case Management

  • Oversee warranty and quality claims from initiation to closure using internal systems.
  • Conduct failure-mode analysis and coordinate RCA and CAPA activities with internal and external teams.
  • Prepare and deliver detailed technical reports for customers and management.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance & Quality Control contractual requirements.

Field & Technical Support

  • Travel to project sites for inspections and on-site investigations.
  • Provide hands-on support to technicians and service partners.
  • Verify adherence to quality, EHS, and documentation standards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and supply chain teams.

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

  • Record lessons learned and update troubleshooting and RCA documentation.
  • Contribute to field communications and customer knowledge-base content.
  • Promote safety culture and compliance with EHS standards.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 6–10 years of experience in quality engineering within energy storage, renewable power, or industrial systems.
  • Strong leadership in multi-factor root cause analysis and structured problem solving (5 Whys, 8D, FMEA, Fishbone).
  • Proven customer-facing experience and ability to manage expectations under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-moving environment.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel up to 40% domestically.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with lithium-ion battery systems, power electronics, or large-scale renewable systems.
  • Familiarity with PV, wind, or grid-connected systems and high-voltage safety standards.
  • Background in manufacturing quality systems and statistical process analysis.
  • Korean language proficiency a plus for collaboration with global teams.

Why Apply?
