Strategy Workshop Facilitator for the Climate Movement
Who we are
Leave it in the Ground Initiative (LINGO) is dedicated to ending the fossil fuel era and accelerating the transition to 100% clean energy. The organisation focuses on supporting global efforts to prevent new fossil fuel projects and advancing innovative climate solutions that can rapidly reduce fossil fuel burning.
Description
LINGO is seeking 1-2 freelance campaign-planning facilitators to support grassroots climate and environmental justice groups, primarily in the Global South, through remote strategy workshops and follow-on support.
This is a part-time, fully remote independent contractor role. Facilitators will work directly with LINGO's Empower programme to prepare and lead online campaign-planning workshops and join scoping and prep calls in advance.
The aim is to help groups develop practical, usable campaign plans that they can carry forward.
We expect to begin with an initial contract for one or two workshop cycles, with the possibility of ongoing work if the fit is strong. Our working hours are US-based, but flexible for the right candidate.
Compensation will be contract-based and discussed depending on experience, fit, and the scope of each workshop cycle, with rates generally starting at around USD 1,000 per day.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in campaign planning and, ideally, successful execution
- Experience facilitating campaign-planning workshops or movement trainings
- Comfort working online, across time zones, and in varied political and cultural contexts
- A facilitation style that supports participant leadership and ownership, rather than prescribing strategy
Preferred
- Training or experience with Midwest Academy methods
- Experience with climate, environmental justice, or community campaigns
- Experience working with groups in the Global South
- Additional languages, especially Spanish
If interested, please send a brief note, your résumé, your languages, and availability (both for an interview and start date). Thanks for applying!
