The Executive/ Senior Executive, Business Development (BD) will have a key role in driving the growth and bottom line of the company’s business. This role will develop a stable pipeline of new opportunities with utility scale projects from inception to close. This Business Development personnel is responsible for maintaining ongoing client and stakeholder relationships. The role involves sourcing, marketing, and developing presentations and proposals to deliver them to new and potential clients or stakeholders.


Job Responsibilities:

A. Business Development & Strategic Growth

  1. Identify & secure solar/RE opportunities for C&I across Malaysia.
  2. Build relationships with govt agencies, IPPs, corporates, and investors to drive project uptake.
  3. Monitor policy & incentives (RE policies, tax schemes) to align strategies with regulatory shifts.
  4. Assist project feasibility (site assessment, grid studies, financial viability) for bankable proposals.
  5. Develop partnerships with EPC contractors, financiers, and tech providers for execution support.
  6. Assist tender bids (LSS, corporate PPAs) and negotiate offtake agreements (PPAs, leases).
  7. Drive cross-functional collaboration with technical, legal, finance and ESG teams for compliant execution.
  8. Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking forums.
  9. Track KPIs (pipeline growth, MW secured, revenue) and report on market trends/competitors.
  10. Meet or exceed sales targets and KPIs.


B. Internal Coordination & Market Enablement

  1. Support marketing initiatives by providing market insights for solar campaigns, case studies, and thought leadership
  2. Mentor junior BD/sales teams on solar project structuring, client pitching, and Malaysia market dynamics.
  3. Coordinate post-deal handover to project execution teams, ensuring smooth transition and client expectations alignment.
  4. Monitor competitor activity and emerging solar/RE technologies (e.g., floating PV, BESS) to inform strategy.
  5. Assist in ESG reporting by tracking carbon savings, sustainability metrics, and stakeholder impact for projects.


Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Renewable Energy/Electrical), Business, Economics, or related field.
  2. Minimum 3-5 years in business development, sales, or project origination in solar/renewable energy, with a focus on Malaysia & ASEAN markets.
  3. Fresh graduates with the relevant skills are highly encouraged to apply.
