About New Society
New Society is a strategic communications consultancy that operates at the intersection of social change and high-impact storytelling. Known for navigating complex, mission-led narratives, the agency delivers campaigns that influence the national conversation and engage the broader political landscape. They have a track record of success with landmark projects, such as the National Emergency Briefing in Westminster in Nov, which secured extensive coverage across the BBC, Sky and major national titles.
The agency specialises in “save the world” scale projects that blend academic rigour with consumer-facing energy. Their work is backed by global philanthropy and top-tier academic institutions, focused on translating scientific and political information into compelling, emotive communications. From immersive events at iconic London venues to national campaigns involving major sporting institutions and A-list talent, New Society creates moments that matter.
If you want to drive genuine social and environmental impact, this is the agency for you.
About the job
In this role, you'll lead a landmark climate campaign to deliver a high-profile anniversary event, blending top-tier consumer energy with scientific depth. You'll work in a highly collaborative environment alongside the Founder, a production assistant and a social media expert.
Key responsibilities:
- Campaign Delivery: Own and manage a complex six-week project timeline, ensuring every milestone of this high-profile climate anniversary is met with precision.
- Media Strategy & Execution: Lead a high-impact media strategy, acting as the primary point of contact for national and regional outlets including partnerships with key broadcasters
- High-Profile Liaison: Manage relationships and contracts for A-list talent, celebrity participants, and world-renowned meteorologists.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the central “glue” between academic institutions (such as the University of Reading), global philanthropic organisations, and technical scientific experts.
- Integrated Coordination: Oversee and sync workstreams across social media, live production at the venue, and celebrity booking teams to ensure a unified campaign voice.
- Narrative Translation: Quickly process complex scientific data and climate forecasts, turning them into accessible, emotive stories for a national audience.
- Hands-on work: You’ll be joining a small and agile team where everyone mucks in together and helps out to ensure the campaign is delivered on time and on budget.
The ideal candidate:
- You are an established Account Director, Senior Account Director or Associate Director with a background in fast-paced consumer or corporate agencies.
- You are hot on process and logistics, with the ability to take a complex, high-stakes brief and turn it into a streamlined, professional campaign.
- You bring the high-energy “hustle” of a top-tier consumer agency but possess the intellectual depth required to navigate climate science and social impact.
- You have a genuine interest in climate change and social change, allowing you to be empathetic to the mission while remaining focused on delivery.
- You have a proven track record of securing national broadcast coverage and feel comfortable navigating relationships with journalists, MPs, and high-profile celebrities.
- You can process complex scientific and political information quickly, translating technical data into compelling, human stories.
