For our client, we are seeking a Senior Program Director - State Energy Program to join the team of a leader in the Business Services space.

This leader will oversee a large-scale energy program with a focus on startup execution, stakeholder coordination, and ongoing operational performance. The role will guide cross-functional teams, strengthen financial discipline, and help ensure the program remains aligned with public-sector requirements and strategic objectives. Success in this position will depend on strong leadership, clear communication, and the ability to translate planning into measurable program outcomes.

The ideal candidate will partner closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to manage risk, support implementation, and identify opportunities for continuous program improvement. This is a highly visible role that requires both strategic thinking and hands-on program management in a complex, regulated environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $140,000 – $170,000 annually

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive startup and program plans.
  • Create project management tools to monitor progress and report outcomes.
  • Ensure stakeholder alignment and quick contingency responses.
  • Communicate goals effectively to inspire the implementation team.
  • Stay informed about U.S. Department of Energy guidelines and policies.
  • Identify and leverage new opportunities for program enhancement.
  • Manage program financials and maintain detailed operational forecasts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Studies, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years in Energy Efficiency, Energy Management, or Program Management.
  • Experience leading complex program teams with multi-million-dollar budgets.
  • Strong team-building and leadership skills across diverse teams.
  • Expertise in contract negotiation and financial management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and strategic planning.
  • Ability to manage risks and drive effective communication.
