Executive - Campus Sustainability
Kumaraguru Institutions is looking for a Sustainability Executive to drive campus-wide environmental
management initiatives, including energy, water, and waste management, GHG emissions accounting, and sustainability reporting. The role works closely with facilities, operations, and academic stakeholders to collect data, implement projects, and support the institution's net-zero and environmental compliance goals.
Educational Qualification
• B.Tech / M.Tech in Environmental Engineering or Energy and Environmental Engineering
• M.Sc in Environmental Sciences or Environmental Management
Experience Required
• 1–4 years of experience in waste management, energy management, and water management.
• Prior hands-on experience with environmental management projects specifically on design, implementation, operation and maintenance.
• Experience in environmental auditing is an advantage.
• Experience in emission reporting covering Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions of an organization.
Preferred Certifications & Skills
• ISO 14064, ISO 14040 and ISO 14044 certification preferred.
• Knowledge in GHG Protocol, SBTi Net Zero pathways.
• Prior experience in environmental auditing is an advantage.
• GIS knowledge is an advantage.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel is an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
1) GHG Emissions & Reporting
• Collect, analyse and help calculate GHG emissions across the campus.
• Support emission reporting across Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 categories.
• Apply IPCC Guidelines, GHG Protocol, and SBTi Net Zero pathway frameworks in reporting and target-setting.
2) Sustainability Projects
• Directly involve in and support all on-campus sustainability projects, including:
• Renewable energy systems
• Water conservation and recycling
• Waste reduction and management
• Carbon sequestration initiatives
• Air quality projects
3) Data Collection & Stakeholder Coordination
• Collect and analyse environmental data relating to energy, water, and waste systems.
• Coordinate with line departments to ensure smooth and timely data flow for emission reporting.
• Engage stakeholders across the campus to support ongoing sustainability initiatives.
Required Knowledge & Skills
• Knowledge of renewable energy structures and systems.
• Strong understanding of solid waste management processes and waste categories.
• Knowledge of water management systems, including data collection and analysis.
• Good understanding of environmental data relating to energy, water, and waste.
• Good communication skills to coordinate effectively with relevant stakeholders.
• Fluency in Tamil and English is essentia
