Job Purpose

As Data Analyst of the Kuehne Climate Center (KCC), you will support the Knowledge Hub’s economic and development analytics, bridging business intelligence and sustainability data. The position covers the full analytical workflow — data gathering, cleaning, structuring, analysis, visualization, and the creation of actionable insights. It has a stronger economic and financial focus and is expected to support the broader analytical needs of all KCC Program Lines. In this role, the Data Analyst will work closely with the full Knowledge Hub Team, including the Senior Data Analyst and the Researcher, collaborating across all analytical areas.

What You Will Do

  • Conduct research and collect data with a focus on trade, logistics, finance, and development indicators
  • Clean, organize, and document datasets; maintain data integrity and comparability
  • Support the development of a proprietary KCC data repository for logistics and climate
  • Conduct analytics for KCC’s research and implementation projects using advanced analytical methods
  • Perform financial and investment modelling, cost-benefit analysis, and scenario-based performance assessment
  • Build dashboards and KPI systems for monitoring program and project performance
  • Develop dynamic Excel dashboards and data visualizations (Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
  • Support the integration of datasets into KCC’s emerging intelligence platform
  • Use AI-assisted tools for automation and analytical enhancement
  • Support the buildup and development of a state-of-the-art analytical toolkit
  • Contribute to data narratives and visual outputs used in KCC’s knowledge products
  • Collaborate with international research organizations, development agencies, logistics businesses, and other partners in driving key data analytics efforts

You bring

  • 3–5 years of specific professional experience in data analytics, business intelligence, finance, or development economics
  • Master’s degree in Economics, Data Science, Statistics, Development Studies, or related field
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, financial modelling, dashboards) and Power BI / Tableau
  • Intermediate skills in Python, R, or SQL for data analysis and automation
  • Familiarity with international development datasets (World Bank, IMF, UNCTAD, WTO)
  • Knowledge of ESG metrics and climate-related financial disclosure frameworks (TCFD, CSRD) is an asset
  • Interest in the logistics industry
  • Strong data storytelling and visualization abilities
  • Fluency in English (German an asset)

You will work with

The Data Analyst reports to the Head of Knowledge & Analytics and works closely with the Senior Data Analyst, the Researcher, the Communications Department, and the Management & Operations Team to deliver data-driven insights and dashboards supporting KCC’s programs and strategic initiatives.

The Kuehne Climate Center (KCC) is a subsidiary of the Kuehne Foundation in Schindellegi, Switzerland. Established in 1976 by the Kuehne family and is one of the largest foundations in the German-speaking world. As an operational foundation it is involved in the areas of logistics, medicine, culture and, since the beginning of 2023, climate action. The Foundation is independent, operational and international.
