4. Background

Korea Environment Corporation (K-eco) is a public institution of the Republic of Korea dedicated to environmental improvement, resource circulation, pollution prevention, and climate response.

K-eco is establishing its Vietnam Representative Office in Ho Chi Minh City to strengthen communication and cooperation with Vietnamese authorities and stakeholders, support headquarters-led activities, and enhance local coordination in the environmental sector.

The Vietnam Representative Office will support liaison, communication, policy and market research, information collection, reporting, and coordination related to environmental cooperation between Korea and Vietnam. It will also support K-eco headquarters-led ODA projects, as well as international greenhouse gas reduction cooperation activities in Vietnam.


5. Objective of the Position

The Program and Cooperation Officer will support the operation of the Vietnam Representative Office and assist with environmental cooperation activities in Vietnam. The Officer will contribute mainly to liaison, coordination, research, reporting, and communication related to K-eco’s cooperation initiatives, while also providing necessary administrative support for office operations.


6. Key Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Head of the Vietnam Representative Office, the Program and Cooperation Officer will perform the following duties:


A. Liaison, Coordination, and External Relations

  • Support communication and working-level coordination with Vietnamese government agencies, public institutions, local partners, development partners, business associations, and other relevant stakeholders in Vietnam.
  • Support the arrangement and follow-up of meetings, consultations, seminars, workshops, external events, and other stakeholder engagement activities hosted or attended by K-eco.
  • Prepare or assist in preparing briefing materials, meeting materials, external communication materials, and related correspondence for liaison and coordination purposes.
  • Provide Vietnamese-English translation or interpretation support for routine communication, meetings, and coordination, when necessary.

B. Research and Information Collection

  • Conduct desk research and collect information on Vietnam’s environmental policies, legal and institutional developments, sectoral trends, and policy developments related to waste management, circular economy, climate change, greenhouse gas reduction, MRV, and carbon markets.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze information on potential areas for environmental cooperation, including ODA opportunities, institutional cooperation needs, project-related developments, implementation issues, and other practical matters needed for headquarters’ review, planning, decision-making, and reporting.
  • Prepare updates, briefing notes, and summary reports for K-eco headquarters on relevant policy, market, and stakeholder developments.

C. Administrative and Office Support

  • Support the daily administrative operation of the Vietnam Representative Office.
  • Assist with office administration, filing, document management, scheduling, and meeting arrangements.
  • Support lease-related, procurement-related, and office asset-related administrative procedures in coordination with the office and headquarters.
  • Assist with logistical arrangements for missions, meetings, events, and visiting delegations.
  • Prepare draft correspondence, meeting notes, reports, and presentation materials in English and/or Vietnamese as required.

7. Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field such as environmental engineering, environmental policy, climate change, international development, public administration, business administration, economics, or other related disciplines.
  • At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • environmental policy or project support,
  • climate change or greenhouse gas reduction,
  • ODA or development cooperation,
  • international cooperation,
  • public-sector or institutional coordination,
  • project administration or office management.
  • Strong command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Good drafting and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Good interpersonal, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work in a structured and responsible manner in coordination with local stakeholders and K-eco headquarters.

8. Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in environmental, climate, carbon market, MRV, ODA, or international cooperation projects.
  • Experience working with government agencies, public institutions, international organizations, consulting firms, or engineering firms.
  • Knowledge of Vietnam’s environmental policy and administrative system.
  • Experience in organizing meetings, workshops, or stakeholder consultations.
  • Ability to communicate in Korean is an asset, but not mandatory.

9. Reporting Line

The selected candidate will work under the direct supervision of the Head of the Vietnam Representative Office and will coordinate, as necessary, with the relevant departments of K-eco headquarters in the Republic of Korea.


10. Contract Period

  • Initial contract period: 12 months
  • Probation period: up to 60 days, subject to applicable Vietnamese labor regulations and the employment contract

11. Working Conditions

  • Working hours: 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday
  • Duty station: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
  • Monthly salary: Negotiable, depending on qualifications and experience, subject to qualifications, experience, and internal approval
  • During probation, salary will be paid in accordance with the employment contract and applicable labor regulations
  • Other benefits and working conditions will be governed by the employment contract and applicable Vietnamese labor laws
