Operations & Strategy lead (all genders)
At Klim, we work with farmers and food companies to make regenerative agriculture scalable and financially rewarding for farmers. Through our platform, we help farmers restore soil health, increase biodiversity and capture carbon while creating new, reliable income streams.
We’re a Berlin-based AgriTech startup backed by $22M in Series A funding, partnering with global food leaders such as Nestlé and Kaufland to reduce emissions across their supply chains and build long-term resilience. Since 2020, we’ve supported 3,500 farmers managing over 900,000 hectares.
If you’re passionate about building a sustainable food system and driving real climate impact, join us and help create a healthier planet!
Your mission
As a strategic partner to the COO and key stakeholders across Klim, your mission is to ensure smooth company execution as we scale.
This is a hybrid role combining strategy, operations, project management, and internal consulting. You will own cross-functional delivery, solve critical issues effectively and pragmatically, and help standardise and further professionalise how teams work - without adding unnecessary bureaucracy.
You will develop a deep understanding of our company strategy, help evolve it, and most importantly, support teams in executing on it successfully. At the same time, you care deeply about our mission to improve soil health as a business model, ensuring that client and farmer needs, commercial implications, and impact considerations are reflected in how we plan and operate.
Your Responsibilities
We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute their best. All hiring and personnel decisions are made solely based on qualifications, performance, and the needs of the company - ensuring fairness and equal opportunity for all.
If you’re excited about this role but don’t meet every requirement, we still encourage you to apply. You might be the perfect fit for our team in ways you don’t yet realise!

Your Responsibilities
- You will own and drive cross-functional execution across key processes connecting commercial/sales, farmer account management, MRV (measurement/monitoring, reporting, verification), scientific modelling, product, engineering, agronomy and finance. This includes setting up or re-thinking some of our most critical business processes and parts of our operating model
- Drive alignment across teams: clarify owners, timelines, dependencies, and escalation paths.
- Lead process improvement: map workflows, remove bottlenecks, increase automation/documentation, and improve reliability.
- Ensure execution through meetings, stakeholder management, decision support and documentation
- You will support business operations and steering
- Support strategic decisions with strong content input (option framing, trade-offs, recommendations), driving the convergence of commercial thinking and client/farmer needs with both operational complexities and the impact we want to generate.
- Improve leadership and management cadence (e.g. supporting our extended leadership team).
- Design and build practical KPI dashboards and the corresponding setup and processes to strengthen data-driven steering.
- Support transformation towards AI-enabled business operations: Identify and implement fast AI/automation wins across teams.
- You will take ownership of high-priority operational topics end-to-end (e.g., data/client/process incidents)
- A bright and curious mind: Strong academic background and the desire to dive deep into a highly complex business model with conceptual, commercial, agricultural, technological, regulatory and operational challenges - and the prospect of generating massive impact by improving soil health at scale
- Strategic thinker with strong execution skills: 4-8 years of operational or project management experience, able to combine commercial/strategic judgment with a bias for hands-on execution and follow-through.
- Structured Problem Solver: Exceptional attention to detail, capable of deeply understanding complex problems (content and process), aggregating them into clear decision options with commercial implications.
- Scaling and Process Expertise: Proven ability to bring structure to rapidly scaling organisations and implement pragmatic, non-bureaucratic process improvements.
- Stakeholder Management & Influence: Comfortable in complex, fast-paced environments, with strong communication, accountability, and influence across all seniority levels.
- Data-Driven & High Ownership: Highly analytical, KPI-fluent, comfortable building effective management dashboards, and demonstrates high ownership, resilience, and speed in both strategic and tactical work.
- Required Languages: Fluent in English; German is a plus.
- Opportunity: Be part of our journey from the very beginning, working on an equal footing with the leadership team to build a new company.
- Impact: Make a daily and active contribution to combating climate change, promoting consumer education, and fostering fair conditions for our climate-conscious farmers.
- Autonomy: Take ownership of your projects and enjoy a high degree of creative freedom.
- Flexible work model: At Klim, we foster a flexible, hybrid work approach and facilitate remote work (within the EU). It is advantageous for this role if you live in Berlin or can be present in our office regularly.
- Additional benefits for full time, permanent employees: We offer membership in the Urban Sports Club or subsidisation of the Deutschlandticket, a company pension scheme, plus team lunches (if based in Berlin) and regular team events.
We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute their best. All hiring and personnel decisions are made solely based on qualifications, performance, and the needs of the company - ensuring fairness and equal opportunity for all.
