Senior Engineer, Electrical Project Engineering
Base pay range: $140,000.00/yr - $170,000.00/yr
Additional compensation types: Annual Bonus
Role Responsibilities:
- Oversight of the electrical systems design for onshore wind, solar, and storage projects from development to handover to operations
- Design of balance of plant packages from development to IFC
- Engineering project support during preconstruction, construction, and turnover to Operations
- Grid code compliance and interconnection requirements
- Specification and evaluation of major balance of plant electrical equipment
- Power system modeling and studies
- Coordinating project engineering topics during construction
- Management of 3rd party engineering consultants
- Coordinating with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts during the project lifecycle
- Support NERC Compliance documents and studies
- Ensure that the highest level of health, safety, and environmental protection is incorporated into designs and standards
- Support the development of electrical engineering standards
- Support the development of engineering processes and procedures
Job Requirements and Experience:
- A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABETaccredited college engineering program
- Advanced degrees can reduce technical experience requirements
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience (post undergraduate) in electrical engineering
- Specific areas of experience and competency include transmission design, substation design, collection and distribution design, major equipment specification, power system studies, and system protection and control
- Experience in renewable generation (wind turbine, solar PV, and BESS storage) project design is preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage customer relationships
- Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space
- Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams
- Strong leadership, communication, and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
- Ability to multitask, while working independently and as part of a team
- Motivated selfstarter, goaloriented, and strong problemsolving abilities
- Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds
- Responds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable
- Is detailoriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concepts
