Role Description

The Carbon Manager will lead initiatives to assess, monitor, and optimize carbon sequestration projects while ensuring compliance with international carbon-credit standards. Responsibilities include managing data collection, preparing carbon offset reports, and collaborating with stakeholders to advance sustainability goals. The manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing project implementation, providing support to field teams, and identifying new opportunities for carbon certification. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Kampala.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of carbon offset methodologies, carbon accounting, and climate change frameworks
  • Experience in data analysis, reporting, and utilizing tools for monitoring and measuring carbon sequestration
  • Project management skills, including planning, coordination, and stakeholder engagement
  • Strong communication skills for stakeholder collaboration and report preparation
  • Background in forestry, environmental science, sustainability, or a related field; relevant certifications are a plus
  • Proficiency in working with GIS tools, remote sensing, or other related technologies
  • Ability to work effectively on-site in Kampala and willingness to travel to rural project areas
  • Familiarity with agroforestry, permaculture, or sustainable development is an advantage
