Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Kampala for an Early Childhood Environmental Teacher. The teacher will be responsible for educating young children about sustainability through engaging lessons on gardening, recycling, and nutrition. Day-to-day tasks include designing and implementing age-appropriate lesson plans, leading hands-on activities, fostering environmental awareness, and collaborating with school staff, families, and communities. The role also involves curating innovative strategies to encourage children to adopt eco-friendly practices and empowering them to take part in climate action projects.

Qualifications

  • Expertise in Early Childhood Education and Child Development
  • Experience in Teaching and Working With Children
  • Proficiency in Curriculum Development tailored to young learners
  • Passion for sustainability, including a strong understanding of gardening, recycling, and nutrition practices
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and educators
  • Problem-solving skills with adaptability to work collaboratively with diverse groups
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Environmental Education, or a related field
  • Previous experience in environmental education is a plus
