About Kapture

Kapture retrofits carbon capture onto existing diesel generators — no engine modifications, under one hour to install, zero downtime. We capture up to 90% of CO₂ and convert it into 99% pure calcium carbonate, a material that replaces carbon-intensive inputs in concrete. We’re not waiting for heavy industry to electrify. We’re decarbonising it today.

The role

We’re looking for an engineer who can find and eliminate power draw across our capture system — compressors, pumps, blowers, and the gas-liquid contacting stage without compromising capture efficiency. This is applied engineering on a physical retrofit unit, not theoretical modelling. You’ll work directly with our R&D team to instrument the system, isolate where energy is being lost, and re-engineer components to close the gap.

What you’ll do

• Audit power consumption across the capture unit’s mechanical and electrical systems

• Optimise compressor, blower, and pump selection and control against real operating conditions

• Improve gas-liquid contacting efficiency to reduce parasitic draw without losing CO₂ capture rate

• Work with field trial data from live sites to validate improvements under real-world load

• Collaborate with our manufacturing and process teams to translate design changes into deployable hardware

What you bring

• Process, mechanical, or chemical engineering background, ideally with hands-on experience in compressed gas systems, aeration/DAF, bioreactor gas transfer, or industrial pumping/blower systems

• A track record of measurably reducing energy consumption in a physical system — not just modelling it

• Comfort working on a compact, retrofit-scale unit rather than a large fixed plant

• Ability to work independently and fast, in a startup environment

Why Kapture

• Direct impact on a technology already deployed in the field, not a lab concept

• Work at the intersection of climate tech, materials science, and mechanical engineering

• Backed by VINCI Group and Acciona, with a growing global trial pipeline

• Founder-led, fast-moving, technically rigorous team
