What will I be doing?
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Accountant to manage and oversee the financial activities of the group subsidiaries. This is a critical role responsible for ensuring the integrity of our financial records, compliance with all statutory requirements, and providing actionable insights to support business growth and decision-making across the group.

What will I be doing?
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Accountant to manage and oversee the financial activities of the group subsidiaries. This is a critical role responsible for ensuring the integrity of our financial records, compliance with all statutory requirements, and providing actionable insights to support business growth and decision-making across the group.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Financial Reporting & Control
- General Ledger & Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger management and the preparation of comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations.
- Transaction Processing: Perform manual and automated bank reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are accounted for, and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice preparation, review, procurement, and payments.
- Financial Statements: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Foreign Exchange: Update and monitor foreign exchange rates and manage related accounting entries.
- Compliance & Assurance
- Audit & Tax Support: Support external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
- Statutory Compliance: Assist in preparing and filing tax submissions, including VAT/GST returns and RDEC claims, and ensure overall compliance with statutory requirements, corporate policies, and accounting regulations.
- Payroll: Perform monthly payroll reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Analysis & Business Support
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow monitoring to support financial planning and liquidity management.
- Variance Analysis: Conduct variance analysis, comparing actual results against budgets and forecasts, and provide actionable financial insights to management.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and proactively contribute to the enhancement of financial systems and controls across the Finance Operations department.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other departments (e.g., Tech Services, Commercial) to provide financial insights and support business initiatives.
You are a highly organized, analytical, and commercially aware Financial Accountant capable of managing multiple priorities under pressure. You possess a meticulous attention to detail and are eager to apply your expertise to contribute to the financial accuracy and operational efficiency of a growing technology group.
Ideally you’ll have/be:
- Professional Qualification: Hold a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent).
- Proven Experience: Proven experience as a financial accountant or similar role, demonstrating a strong working knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and procedures.
- Financial Acumen: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of conducting effective variance analysis and providing actionable financial insights.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in financial tools, including strong command of Google Sheets/Excel; proficiency in Workday is a plus.
- Execution Excellence: Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, coupled with the ability to work under pressure and consistently meet tight deadlines.
- Communication: Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working both independently and collaboratively across teams.
- Experience gained at a Big Four Accounting Firm.
- Direct experience with the Workday financial management system.
- Experience in a technology, high-growth, or complex multinational group environment
