What will I be doing?

As a Software Engineering Manager, your focus is on leading people and ensuring team delivery. You will oversee two specialised areas - Release Engineering and DevX AI - directing their efforts to eliminate engineering friction and pioneer AI-native workflows at scale.

  • Lead and scale two high-performing teams of data-led and product-focused engineers, fostering an environment of technical excellence and psychological safety.
  • Define the roadmap for Release Engineering, ensuring the team builds solutions that allow Kaluza’s broader engineering community to deploy high-quality code frequently and reliably.
  • Strategise the evolution of our Internal AI Engineering Platform, guiding the team as they build infrastructure (such as MCP servers and agentic workflows) to redefine productivity.
  • Drive cross-team collaboration within the Kaluza Technology community to ensure best practices are standardised and adopted across all software teams.
  • Focus on team health and growth, managing performance, providing career mentorship, and ensuring the collective is aligned with Kaluza’s business goals.

About You

Ideally you’ll have/be:

  • A proven track record in Engineering Management, specifically leading teams focused on Platform, SRE, or Developer Productivity.
  • A strategic thinker who prioritises team delivery and scalability over individual technical tasks.
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams through complex technical transitions (e.g., integrating AI into the SDLC).
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate the value of "internal-facing" engineering work to the wider business.
  • Passionate about mentoring leaders and engineers to reach their full potential.

What will set you apart:

  • Experience managing managers or leading multiple distinct engineering pods.
  • Prior success in driving Engineering Productivity metrics (DORA, SPACE) across a large organisation.
  • A visionary outlook on how AI infrastructure will fundamentally change the software development lifecycle.
