What will I be doing?
As a Pre-Sales Lead you are responsible for understanding the deep-rooted needs of prospective and existing customers and designing tailored solutions to help them meet their target outcomes. You will play a crucial role in the technical side of a sale, evangelising the Kaluza platform and applying a consultative approach to helping customers move away from legacy systems.

What will I be doing?
As a Pre-Sales Lead you are responsible for understanding the deep-rooted needs of prospective and existing customers and designing tailored solutions to help them meet their target outcomes. You will play a crucial role in the technical side of a sale, evangelising the Kaluza platform and applying a consultative approach to helping customers move away from legacy systems.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Discovery & Solution Design: Lead discovery workshops with clients to surface business needs and pain points. You’ll translate complex requirements into outcomes that can be mapped to our extensive solution capabilities that ensure a successful implementation.
- Tender & Proposal Excellence: Provide key technical and strategic input into the creation of tender responses (RFPs) and customer proposals.
- Product Advocacy: Act as a bridge between the market and Kaluza's internal Product and Engineering teams. You will advocate for client needs to be incorporated into our roadmap while ensuring solutions remain aligned with our core platform capabilities.
- Commercial Negotiation: Manage scope negotiation as part of the overall contract negotiation with new clients, ensuring a balance between client value and delivery feasibility.
- Market Intelligence: Bring strategic recommendations back to the company, providing insights on legacy solutions and current market trends to help shape our Sales and Product strategies.
- Measurable Outcomes: Advise clients on how Kaluza can deliver measurable outcomes, using a data-driven approach to prove the value of our platform.
You are a consultative professional with a deep understanding of the energy industry. You can speak the language of "billing, metering, and settlements" with technical stakeholders while effectively communicating a persuasive strategic vision to business leaders.
Ideally you’ll have/be:
- Industry Expertise: Deep experience working within the complexities of an energy retailer context, specifically in billing, metering, and settlements.
- Consultative Sales Experience: Proven experience in complex enterprise software sales, consulting, or within a relevant client organisation.
- Exceptional Communicator: A proven ability to distil complex concepts into easy-to-understand points, communicating persuasively across all stakeholder levels.
- Analytical & Customer-Centric: You know how to measure success and use data to answer the right questions. You focus on solving customer problems first and foremost.
- High Emotional Intelligence: The ability to empathise and work through differing opinions with a growth mindset.
- Agile & Autonomous: Comfortable operating through ambiguity in a dynamic, "start-up" mentality environment, managing multiple workstreams in parallel.
- Mission-Driven: Passionate about renewable energy and the role technology plays in the global energy transition.
- SaaS Sales Background: Specific experience in the sales of SaaS solutions in the energy industry
- Architectural Experience: Experience architecting large-scale, impactful software solutions.
- Scale Retailer Experience: Demonstrable experience working with or for a scale energy retailer.
