Job Title: Commercial Solar Electrician
Location: New Jersey and Traveling 
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: 80k+

Job Description:

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Commercial Solar Electrician to join our team. This role is focused on the installation, maintenance, and commissioning of large-scale commercial and industrial solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical background, knowledge of commercial PV systems, and a commitment to safety and quality.

As a key member of our field team, you will work on a variety of commercial solar projects including rooftops, ground mounts, and solar carports. You will ensure that all electrical work is completed according to design specifications, local codes, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, wire, and commission commercial-scale solar PV systems, inverters, transformers, and monitoring equipment

  • Interpret construction drawings, electrical schematics, and system layouts

  • Ensure all electrical work meets NEC, local AHJ, and utility interconnection requirements

  • Perform testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance on solar equipment and electrical infrastructure

  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, utility representatives, and other trades on site

  • Maintain proper documentation of system installations, inspections, and service work

  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols, including lockout/tagout and PPE use

Qualifications:

  • Journeyman or Master Electrician recommended

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience working with commercial solar PV systems

  • Strong understanding of the NEC, commercial wiring methods, and solar industry best practices

  • Experience with string inverters, central inverters, rapid shutdown systems, and data monitoring systems

  • Ability to work on rooftops, ladders, lifts, and in outdoor conditions

  • Proficient with electrical tools, test equipment, and conduit bending

  • OSHA 30 certification preferred

  • NABCEP certification is a plus

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
