We are seeking a Manager, Project Finance and Capital Markets to join our Project Finance team. This role is designed for a finance professional who can independently own transaction workstreams, supervise junior team members, and act as a day-to-day execution lead on complex financings in support of a primary deal team lead. The Manager will be responsible for overseeing financial modeling, coordinating diligence and closing processes, and serving as a key internal and external point of contact across multiple concurrent transactions.

This role requires strong technical expertise, sound commercial judgment, and the ability to manage people and processes in a fast-paced transaction environment.

This role will be based out of our Austin, TX or Chicago, IL office and is subject to the Company's return-to-office policy, which currently requires a minimum of three days per week in the office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and oversee project-level and portfolio-level financial models for utility-scale battery storage assets across development, construction, and operations
  • Review, validate, and approve financial models prepared by Associates; ensure consistency with transaction terms and internal investment theses
  • Lead scenario, sensitivity, and downside analyses and synthesize results into clear recommendations for senior management
  • Support structuring and execution of project finance debt, tax equity, and structured equity transactions, acting in an execution role for the deal team leader
  • Manage transaction workstreams end-to-end, including:
    • Data room organization and diligence response coordination
    • Q&A management with lenders, tax equity investors, rating agencies, and advisors
    • Coordination of third-party reports (IE, market, insurance, legal, tax)
    • Proactively identify diligence risks, structural issues, and timeline constraints; escalate and propose solutions
  • Coordinate closely with legal counsel on financing documentation and actively review credit agreements, tax equity documents, hedging agreements, and intercreditor arrangements
  • Serve as the primary finance interface with Development, Engineering, Commercial, Accounting, Tax, and Legal teams during transactions
  • Manage and mentor Associates, including:
    • Delegation of workstreams
    • Review and feedback on models and analyses
    • Development of technical and professional skills
    • Contribute to the development of internal templates, modeling standards, and transaction execution playbooks
  • Support evaluation and execution of portfolio-level and corporate financing strategies, including warehouse facilities, holdco debt, revolvers, and other capital markets transactions
  • Coordinate and review commercial and financial analysis of offtake structures, tolling arrangements, merchant exposure, and other revenue strategies
  • Prepare and review materials for internal investment committee, lender presentations, and senior management reporting

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • 4-7 years of experience in project finance, infrastructure investing, renewable energy, investment banking, private equity, or advisory
  • Advanced financial modeling skills in Excel, including complex debt and tax equity structures
  • High attention to detail and demonstrated ability to manage across multiple concurrent transactions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience interfacing directly with external counterparties
  • Proven ability to supervise and review work produced by junior team members

Preferred

  • Experience with utility-scale battery storage or renewable energy projects
  • Direct experience with project finance debt, tax equity, or structured infrastructure investments
  • Experience reviewing financing documentation or supporting transaction closings
