ESG & Prudential Strategy Director (Investment Banking) - Eton Clarke
An international investment bank is strengthening its EU sustainability strategy team with a senior hire to lead on climate risk, prudential transition planning and ESG strategy. This is a high-profile position working closely with Risk, Finance, Compliance and Strategic Planning, with visibility to senior management and European regulators.

- Lead climate resilience and scenario analysis to assess business model impacts under different ESG pathways.
- Drive enhancements to client engagement and sustainability strategy, ensuring ESG risks are identified and integrated.
- Design and deliver the bank’s prudential transition plan, aligning with ECB/EBA expectations (CRD/CRR, ICAAP, stress tests).
- Monitor, review and update transition and resilience plans, reporting progress to management and supervisors.
- Act as subject matter lead with external consultants and regulatory stakeholders.
- Strong track record in prudential regulation, risk or regulatory affairs (ICAAP/ILAAP, stress testing, Basel frameworks, recovery/resolution planning).
- Knowledge of ECB and EBA ESG expectations and experience embedding sustainability into banking activities.
- Excellent project leadership skills and ability to engage senior stakeholders across multiple functions.
- International outlook, fluent in English (French a plus).
