We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Permanent Tax Manager to join our team in the Mortgage industry. This exciting role provides an opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, where you will play a crucial part in managing and overseeing all aspects of the company's tax operations. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, with a strong background in tax management, budgeting, and financial planning. This role requires a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee the company's tax operations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement effective tax strategies that align with the company's business objectives.
  • Prepare and review tax returns, reports, and other related documents.
  • Conduct thorough tax risk assessments and provide recommendations to mitigate potential risks.
  • Manage the budgeting process, ensuring accurate forecasting and efficient allocation of resources.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external advisors to resolve tax-related issues.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest tax laws and regulations, and ensure that the company is in compliance.
  • Provide expert tax advice to senior management and make recommendations on tax-related matters.
  • Lead and manage a team of tax professionals, providing guidance, training, and mentorship.
  • Participate in financial decision-making processes, providing insights and advice based on tax considerations.
  • Liaise with tax authorities and represent the company in any tax audits or disputes.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in tax management, preferably in the mortgage industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Proven experience in budgeting and financial planning.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts in an understandable manner.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in tax software and other relevant computer applications.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong strategic thinking and decision-making skills.
