I'm currently partnering with a leading renewable energy developer that is looking for a Project Finance Associate in their growing finance team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to combine strong financial modelling capability with hands-on exposure to project financings, commercial decision-making and transaction execution
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain complex project finance models across a portfolio of renewable energy assets, supporting projects throughout the development lifecycle from initial feasibility through to financial close.
- Play a key role in the delivery of financing transactions, coordinating with lenders, advisers and external stakeholders while assisting with due diligence, model audits, documentation and transaction management activities.
- Produce financial analysis, sensitivities and scenario modelling to support commercial negotiations, government tenders, procurement processes and broader investment decisions.
- Assist with ongoing debt and funding obligations following financial close, including covenant tracking, lender reporting and financing-related matters during both construction and operational phases.
- Support acquisition, divestment and wider portfolio optimisation initiatives through financial analysis, valuation work, transaction support and preparation of materials for senior stakeholders and investment committees.
- Work closely with development, construction and commercial teams to ensure financial information remains accurate, up to date and supports timely decision-making across the business.
About You
- You will bring 3-6 years of experience within Project Finance, Infrastructure Advisory, Investment Banking or Corporate Finance, ideally gained within a renewable energy developer, financial institution, infrastructure business or advisory environment.
- Demonstrated experience in transaction execution, with exposure to managing financing workstreams, coordinating due diligence activities, engaging with stakeholders and supporting transactions through to financial close.
- Strong project finance modelling experience, with the ability to develop and maintain detailed financial models and support key investment and financing decisions throughout the project lifecycle.
- Demonstrated experience in debt structuring, financial analysis and scenario testing, with the ability to produce outputs suitable for lenders, investors and senior stakeholders.
- Exposure to the Australian energy market would be highly regarded, particularly knowledge of areas such as PPAs, LTESAs, CIS, AEMO or similar energy and infrastructure frameworks.
- A tertiary qualification in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong commercial judgement, attention to detail and the ability to work effectively across multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced transaction environment.
- Comfortable taking ownership of workstreams and contributing to financing transactions from evaluation through to execution
