Sustainability & ESG Assistant Manager
The Sustainability & ESG Assistant Manager plays a dual role in advancing the company's internal communication initiatives and implementing sustainability strategies, including but not limited to CSR. This role will be instrumental in driving employee engagement, ESG integration, and enhancing the company’s reputation as a responsible, forward-thinking organization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sustainability & ESG Integration
• Coordinate the preparation of ESG/Sustainability reports: collect data, draft content, and work with relevant teams to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Support the development and implementation of the company’s sustainability strategy in alignment with global ESG frameworks (e.g., GRI, SDGs, IFC, CBAM, EUDR).
• Track and analyze key sustainability indicators (energy use, water, waste, emissions) and support initiatives to minimize the company’s environmental footprint.
• Engage cross-functional teams to embed sustainability practices into day-to-day operations and supply chain.
• Monitor global trends, regulations, and risk areas related to sustainability and propose recommendations.
• Support to develop content and storytelling materials (case studies, visuals, reports) to communicate the company’s sustainability efforts to internal and external stakeholders.
• Support branding and PR initiatives that promote Japfa as a sustainable, socially responsible business.
2. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Management
• Propose, plan, and implement CSR programs such as "Japfa for Education", "Care & Share", and other initiatives aligning with company values.
• Coordinate and organize CSR-related events to ensure meaningful employee and community engagement.
• Raise awareness of social and environmental issues among employees through internal campaigns and content.
• Build and maintain relationships with NGOs, local authorities, and community partners.
• Manage CSR budget, track spending, and ensure cost-effective resource allocation.
• Assist in handling internal communication during sensitive issues or crises.
3. Internal Communication
• Develop and manage internal communication channels: newsletters, intranet, digital screens, etc.
• Create engaging and inspiring content to reflect company culture, initiatives, and employee contributions.
• Support internal campaigns on business updates, transformation, and corporate milestones.
4. Other Responsibilities
• Support additional tasks or corporate communication projects as assigned by the Head of Communications.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Sustainability, Environmental Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong project management, writing, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of sustainability standards and ESG reporting frameworks.
• Passionate about social impact, environmental responsibility, and organizational culture.
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
