Your impact

Our Environmental Planning Group is seeking a Practice Director, Sustainability & Resilience to be based in Tampa, Florida. This position will support our multi-disciplinary business through a lens of sustainability and resilience as key elements of the solutions we deliver to meet our clients’ needs.

The Practice Director must take the actions necessary to support project delivery and drive business growth including managing and developing projects, clients and assignments for Jacobs. You will be responsible for developing and executing high value consulting services to our public and private sector clients. You’ll display excellent leadership abilities in relation to company growth, client management, and staff development. You’ll be an active industry participant with established industry recognition and sustain effective, long-term relationships with our clients in the Tampa Bay area and beyond and effectively collaborate across geographies, leverage a wide variety of technical skills, while upholding important Jacobs values, and inspiring staff to raise the bar of excellence.

Primary Responsibilities Will Include

  • Directing project teams as a Project/Program Manager and/or Strategic Advisor
  • Identifying opportunities and leading pursuits for new projects
  • Collaborating with marketing teams in the preparation of proposals and similar activities
  • Participating in Jacobs business development for multiple disciplines.
  • Supporting the development, training, and mentoring of junior consulting staff
  • Maintaining availability to travel when required
  • Focusing on the goal of supporting Jacobs’ sustainability and resilience practice growth.


Here's what you'll need

  • A minimum of 20 years of experience in the sustainability and/or resilience field
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience directing project teams globally as a Project/Program Manager and Strategic Advisor
  • Must have considerable experience in sustainability, climate adaptation, leadership, program management and experience leading and guiding multi-disciplinary teams in delivering sustainable and resilient solutions
  • Master’s degree in city planning / urban development
  • Sustainability or related accreditation (i.e., LEED AP, ENVISION)

The base salary range for this position is $182,500.00 to $220,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
