Project and Grant Manager (Marine Clean-Tech)
THE CHALLENGE
Our client is an innovative clean-tech venture developing modular, high-performance battery systems for the maritime industry. Supported by an established Belgian industrial group, the company has secured two flagship multi-year development programs (funded by regional and European initiatives for zero-emission shipping). To manage this subsidized portfolio and structure the day-to-day operations, we are recruiting a Project & Grant Manager.
YOUR MISSION
You will act as the operational heart in a lean team of 4 people, taking full ownership of grant compliance, project progress, supply chain follow-up, and general administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Grant & Subsidized Project Management: Manage the operational and administrative lifecycle of European and regional grants (e.g., Horizon Europe, regional innovation funds). Track milestones, compile progress and financial reports, monitor budgets, and ensure strict compliance.
- Project Planning & Stakeholder Alignment: Build project schedules for active development tracks. Keep internal teams, group management, external partners, and funding bodies aligned.
- End-to-End Supply Chain & Logistics: Manage purchase orders, liaise with component suppliers, and track deliveries to prevent production bottlenecks. Coordinate site logistics and oversee transport requirements, including safety documentation and homologations for shipped battery modules, to ensure compliant, on-time delivery.
- Hands-on Team Spirit: As part of a small team, you are willing to roll up your sleeves and assist the technical team on the shop floor with practical assembly or test tasks when deadlines require an extra pair of hands.
YOUR PROFILE
- Background: Hands-on mindset and educational background in Business Administration, Economics, Supply Chain, Commercial Sciences, or Organizational Management.
- Grant & Project Experience: Proven track record in project management, procurement, or grant coordination (managing EU or regional subsidized projects/reporting is a distinct advantage).
- Affinity for Technology: You do not need to be an engineer, but you bring a strong affinity for technical environments and a practical, hands-on mindset.
- Personality: Highly structured, solution-oriented, pragmatic, and comfortable wearing multiple operational hats in a startup-style setting.
- Languages & Mobility: Fluent in English and French, working knowledge of Dutch is a strong asset. Valid Driving Licence (Category B).
OUR OFFER
- Real Impact: Be a core pillar of a growing clean-tech venture with short communication lines.
- Security + Agility: The flexibility and excitement of a start-up, backed by the financial strength of an established industrial group.
- Secured Multi-Year Projects: Fully-funded innovation programs ready to be coordinated.
