Recycling Operations Manager

Island Recycling, Inc is looking for a highly effective and efficient individual to oversee all aspects of production and related departments at the facility to include production, shipping & receiving, daily operations, safety and maintenance.

The principle function of this position is to oversee and execute all operations, to provide direction to recycling center staff, to ensure that all tasks are performed, to provide operational support and coordination throughout the recycling center and with customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Streamlining workflows to increase efficiency
• Implementing best practices to enhance productivity
• Managing budgets and optimizing costs
• Supervising and coordinating teams across departments
• Determine staffing levels to maximize manpower
• Conduct training of employees as needed
• Ensure Company Policies & Procedures are followed
• Setting goals, monitoring KPIs and ensuring performance targets are met
• Hiring, training and developing staff
• Overseeing procurement, inventory and vendor relationships
• Ensuring timely delivery of goods/services
• Managing operational budgets and minimizing waste
• Ensuring Company policies, safety standards and legal regulations are followed
• Conducting audits and assessments for continuous improvement
• Identifying operational risks and mitigating them
• Implementing new technologies or systems to improve operations
• Collaborating with senior leadership for long term growth

REQUIREMENTS:

• Read, write and speak English
• 5 years recycling experience or related fields
• Distinguish different types of recyclables (ie. ferrous and nonferrous metals)
• Experience in the operation and maintenance of various types of heavy equipment
• Strong communication, leadership and teamwork skills
• Ability to work flexible schedule
• Pre-Employment drug test mandatory
