Senior Finance Analyst or Finance Associate

Work Schedule: Hybrid, three days in office (Tuesday to Thursday) and two days remote

About the Role

This role provides a unique opportunity to contribute directly to renewable energy projects through financial analysis, project finance, and valuation. The Senior Analyst will support structuring transactions, performing due diligence, and building financial models across wind, solar, and transmission projects. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including development, construction, asset management, legal, and corporate finance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain financial models for renewable energy projects
  • Assist in developing structured finance solutions, including tax equity and investment structures
  • Prepare internal and external investment presentations and briefs
  • Identify and quantify key investment drivers and perform sensitivity analyses
  • Support project development and asset due diligence, evaluating project value and risk
  • Conduct research, statistical analysis, and market risk assessment
  • Analyze pricing and risk management strategies, including hedging products
  • Assist with treasury and capital planning functions
  • Participate in meetings with internal and external stakeholders
  • Respond to inquiries from financial institutions and investors, acting as a contact for lenders and tax equity investors
  • Support financing processes as a junior member of the transaction team

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or a related field
  • 2–4 years of experience in project finance, M&A, or structured finance
  • Strong renewable energy exposure (wind, solar, storage, transmission)
  • Proven ability to build financial models from scratch
  • Backgrounds of interest: developer/IPPs, investment banking, infra PE/VC
  • Ability to work on-site in San Francisco (hybrid role: Tue–Thu in office)
  • Excellent communication skills; detail-oriented with a strong modeling foundation

  1. Financial Modeling Test, 2 hours, built in Excel from scratch
  2. Hiring Manager Interview
  3. Super Day, onsite 4-hour technical and cultural interviews with the project finance team
  4. Target Timeline: approximately 1 week for local candidates; 2 weeks for candidates requiring travel
